The importance of Islamic Studies cannot be underestimated, as it serves as a comprehensive guide for humanity, encompassing every facet of our daily existence. Education holds a paramount position in our lives, and it is for this reason that the proper imparting of Islamic Studies at this academic level assumes great significance. Hazara University's Department of Islamic and Religious Studies takes immense pride in assuming this crucial responsibility in the realm of higher education for Islamic Studies. Our department boasts a highly knowledgeable faculty dedicated to fulfilling this sacred mission.
Introduction
Department of Islamic and Religious Studies, Hazara University was established in the year of 2007 to provide opportunity to study the basic principles of different religion in general and of Islam in particular. The courses offered in the department at undergraduate and graduate level are interdisciplinary. The department regularly arranges workshops, seminars and conferences to enhance the knowledge of the scholars and to equip them with modern scientific technological and social development. The department offered programs of Master, M.Phil and P.hD in Islamic and religious studies in 2008.The main focus of the department is to produce highly qualified Islamic scholars through research activities at M.Phil and P.hD level. Around 258 students have been enrolled in M.Phil Program and 84 Scholars have been awarded M.Phil degree till now. At present 34 scholars are enrolled in P.hD program, 03 scholar have been awarded P.hD degree and 03 have submitted their research work which is in evaluation process. Later on BS-Islamic and Religious Studies (04 years) Program along with contemporary sciences was added in Fall Semester 2015....

To develop the department as a leading center of higher studies in Islamic learning. To produce research oriented Islamic scholars capable to understand and solve the contemporary issues in Islamic perspective....
