HOD Message
Public Policy and Administration is an interdisciplinary field which is focused on developing a unique skill-set and understanding of today's global and complex environment. The main goal of the department is to develop the five universal competencies in its students. These competencies reflect the behavioral and skill foundations for effective public-sector careers. These competencies are to: 1. Lead and manage in public, private and non-profit organizations; 2. Participate in and contribute to the policy processes; 3. Analyze, synthesize, think critically, solve problems and make decisions; 4. Articulate and apply a public service perspective; and 5. Introduction
Public Policy and Public Administration is an interdisciplinary field which is focused on developing a unique skill-set and understanding of today's global and complex environment. A degree in Public Administration not only equips the students and practitioners with the knowledge of complex administrative systems and processes but it also provides an insight of analytical tools, methods to innovate public policy. There is an urgent and global demand for graduates who can understand and analyze a broad range of evidence to devise effective and targeted policies. Now it has become more important to provide solutions to different public policy problems in the face of significant changes in political dynamics of the world. In addition, the curriculum also focuses on the important areas of like, HRM, Finance, Development Studies and Public Health Administration which will enable the students to develop their careers in public sector, nonprofit sector and private sector organizations....
