Introduction
The Department of Biochemistry was established at Hazara University right from its opening in 2002 and has been fully functional since then. Hazara University is the pioneer in establishing full-fledged Department of Biochemistry in KPK to provide teaching and research facilities at graduate and postgraduate levels. The University started with a 4-years honors bachelor degree program, keeping in view the dire need of emerging sciences for advancement in science and technology.
Vision
The vision of the Department of Biochemistry is to provide the quality education at undergraduate, graduate and post graduate level. Our vision is also to change the basic concept of the life sciences, and understating of life at molecular level to be recognized as a center of excellence in Biochemistry that Provide an atmosphere to acquire skills in identifying the link between biology and human resources transform it to enhance quality of life.
Mission
The Department of Biochemistry is one of basic science departments in the Hazara University. The faculty of the Department of Biochemistry is dedicated to the training of future scientists not only by teaching an existing body of knowledge, but also by expanding that body of knowledge through their original research activities. Our primary instructional activities are directed toward our graduate, postgraduate, M.Phil and PhD. The Department of Biochemistry is a dynamic, productive scientific and educational enterprise. Our research is generating new inventions, knowledge and translation strategies to enhance quality of life. The mission is to develop and enhance conservation of optimum academic environment to prepare professional graduate in the field of Biochemistry. The scope of Biochemistry extends over a wide range of subjects dealing with teaching and research institutions like NARC, NIBGE, NIH, NIAB, NIFA, Atomic Energy Commission, medical colleges, hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, forensic laboratories, Environmental Protection agencies, industries such as agriculture, medicine, food, polymer, pharmaceuticals, sugar, cosmetics, and beverages....
