Introduction
The Department of Education (DE) was among the first four departments founded with the establishment of the university in 2002. The Department is currently among the top departments with regard to faculty, students and programs. It falls under the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. Initially two programs B.A. (Hons) Education and B.Ed. one-year were started. The B.Ed (Hons) program is accredited by the NACTE (National Accreditation Council for Teacher Education). Presently the Department is engaged in teaching B.Ed (Hons), M.Phil (Education) and PhD (Education) programmes.

The development of a society on the principles of equity, justice, professionalism, responsibility, constructive ideals, and moral and Islamic virtues.
