The Department of Tourism and Hospitality promotes career growth opportunities within tourism and hospitality industry. With a stimulating economic forecast, the demand for trained employees is higher than ever. Our focus is providing education to youth, unemployed adults and incumbent employees to meet this growing demand. Providing learners with the necessary educational tools is more crucial than ever. Fortunately, our tourism industry is now recognized by the public sector as a major economic force in the Pakistan, worthy of increased investment in both workforce development and more aggressive promotion of the country to visitors. In this regard, the Department of Tourism and Hospitality is playing a vital role in making the stakeholders aware of the critical need to continue this investment to ensure the future growth of jobs and revenue to our country. Apart from the undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in Tourism and Hospitality, the Department offers many industry-recognized certification trainings. Introduction
Pakistan is blessed with rich cultural and natural resources. These exceptional resources include the natural and cultural landscapes comprising of snow covered mountains, forests, lush green valleys, deserts, beaches and thousands years old archaeological sites and monuments with great potential to attract tourists at national and international level. But unfortunately, the tourism potential of the country has not yet been explored, managed and promoted to attract a reasonable number of tourists and to contribute in local and national development. Keeping in view the rich tourism potential of the region, the Department of Tourism and Hospitality was established at Hazara University Mansehra in 2008 with the aims to explore and promote natural and cultural resources of the country for tourism. The Department of Tourism and Hospitality is dedicated to develop sustainable tourism in Pakistan by imparting quality education, training and research in the tourism and hospitality sectors with main focus on preparing competitive managers and professionals for local, regional and global markets. The Department of Tourism and Hospitality, Hazara University Mansehra earns the credit to be the first degree awarding institute in Pakistan in the field of Tourism and Hospitality.
