Dr. Asif Javed Biography

I am Assistant Professor of Environmental Sciences and Head of the Department, Earth and Environmental Sciences. I hold PhD degree in Environmental Sciences from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, Pakistan and have more than 18 years of work experience. I also have an experience of working in international research projects funded by United States Agency for International Development (USAID), United States National Environmental and Health Institute (US NEIHS), United States National Science Foundation (US-NSF) at Columbia University (Ivy League University), New York, USA. My research interest includes; Geochemistry of arsenic and other contaminants in ground water, soil and food, Wastewater Based Epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2, Human exposure to arsenic and other contaminants. I collaborate with public health and social scientists, in order to reduce human exposure to contaminants. I am the Fellow and Member of Geological Society of America (GSA). and also member of Society of Economic Geologists and Mineral Technologists (SEGMITE).
