Dr. Asif Umer has been serving as a Lecturer (BPS-18) in the Department of Computer Science and IT at Hazara University, Mansehra, Pakistan, since April 2017. His primary role is teaching, delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses such as Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Programming Fundamentals, Cloud Computing, and Internet of Things (IoT).
In addition to his teaching duties, Dr. Umer actively contributes to departmental development by organizing academic events, coordinating BS final-year projects, and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
His research interests include the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, fog computing, edge computing, smart transportation, smart logistics, task scheduling, fault tolerance, and resource allocation. He earned his PhD in Computer Science from Hazara University in 2024 and his MS in Computer Science from COMSATS Institute of Information Technology in 2016.
Dr. Umer has published several first-author research articles in reputable international journals, including the Alexandria Engineering Journal, Sensors, and The Journal of Supercomputing. His expertise spans programming, cloud simulation tools, distributed systems, and AI applications in IoT, edge computing, and smart transportation systems. Passionate about academic excellence, he is dedicated to educating future professionals, supporting departmental initiatives, and advancing research in emerging technologies.
