Second International Conference on Archaeology and Heritage of British Period in Pakistan

A two-day international conference is being organized by the Department of Archaeology, Hazara University under the auspices and collaboration of Directorate of Archaeology and Museums Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Leicester University UK, American University of Beirut, Lebanon and Shanghai International Studies University, China. Commencing from July 24, the conference will last for 02 days on the theme “Archaeology & Heritage of British period in Pakistan”, in which, archaeologists from UK, Korea, China, Turkey, Egypt and Lebanon, as well as professors, historians, scholars and students at other universities of Pakistan are also participating. The conference is part of an ongoing international project titled "British Era Archaeology and Heritage in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa" under the Pak-UK Education Gateway Programme by the Higher Education Commission, Islamabad and the British Council, Pakistan. The purpose of the conference is to promote international cooperation and to increase understanding of the impact of the British era on the preservation of Pakistan's archaeological landscape and heritage.
