Delegation of the Department of Political Science and International Relations, Hazara University Mansehra, Meets Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
A delegation from the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Hazara University, Mansehra, comprising students and faculty members, visited the Governor’s House in Peshawar on Thursday. The delegation was led by the department’s chairperson, Dr. Adil Seemab, and included faculty members Lecturer Muhammad Asif, Lecturer Amjad Ali Khan, Lecturer Imtiaz Ahmed, Lecturer Mahnoor Hameed, and Lecturer Azmatullah.
During the visit, the Principal Secretary to the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa briefed the delegation on the constitutional powers of the Governor and the history of the Governor’s House. Later, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi addressed the delegation, sharing his vision for higher education and discussing the challenges faced by the sector in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Dr. Adil Seemab highlighted concerns regarding the province's law and order situation, the financial difficulties of universities, the growing despair among youth, and the trends of extremism in political polarization. He also expressed his aspirations to elevate the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Hazara University to a globally competitive standard. Furthermore, he conveyed hope for the Governor’s support in achieving this vision.
The students and faculty members engaged in open discussions with the Governor, raising issues such as financial challenges in pursuing higher education and the deteriorating security situation in the province. They also posed thought-provoking questions and comments on the tug-of-war over powers between the Governor’s House and the provincial government.
In his closing remarks, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi thanked the delegation for their visit and promised to visit Hazara University’s Department of Political Science and International Relations in the near future.
