HEC-NRPU Project No. 141369– 52 Project Title: 

“CRISPR-Cas-Aided Breeding for Broad-Spectrum Recessive Resistance Against Bacterial Blight Strains in Pakistani Rice” 

Department of Agriculture, Hazara University Mansehra, Pakistan 

Applications are invited from qualified and motivated candidates for the following positions under the HEC-funded NRPU Project No. 141369–52. 

Available Positions 

Research Associate/Assistant (PhD enrolled): 01 Position | Monthly Stipend of Rs. 80,000/- (for two years)

Research Associate/Assistant (MPhil enrolled): 01 Position | Monthly Stipend of Rs. 40,000/- (for one year) 

Selection Criteria Research Associate/Assistants (PhD/M.Phil enrolled) 

·       Enrolled in a PhD/M.Phil program in Agriculture (Plant pathology/Plant Breeding & Genetics), Molecular Biology, Biotechnology/Genetic Engineering, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Botany, or other related life sciences.

·       Must have completed the coursework and be ready to undertake full-time research.

·       Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated hands-on experience in rice tissue culture, genetic transformation, CRISPR-Cas construct design and synthesis, recombinant DNA technology, cloning, and subcloning (PhD applicants). However, candidates with foundational knowledge and/or basic practical experience in these disciplines or related areas are also encouraged to apply (M.Phil applicants).

·       Demonstrated commitment to achieving the project objectives (PhD applicants should be capable of working independently under the overall supervision of the PI.) 

·       Good computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. 

·       Good reading, comprehension, scientific writing, and communication skills.

·       All positions are purely temporary/project-based under HEC-NRPU funding.
